The North Carolina Museum of Art has mounted a major international
loan exhibition, Monet in Normandy (October 15, 2006-January 14,
2007), featuring 50 paintings by the French impressionist master
Claude Monet. In conjunction with this exhibition, the Museum’s
conservation and curatorial departments have developed a focus
exhibition called Revolution in Paint (September 17, 2006-February
    11, 2007).

Revolution is based on a simple premise:
    A radical change in
artist’s pigments during the 19th century enabled a revolution in
    painting.
The exhibition explores the innovations of the
impressionists-with special emphasis on their choice of pigments-as
well as those of the dominant academic painters against which the
    impressionist rebelled.

To supplement Revolution, we’ve also made a web exhibition,

    http://www.ncartmuseum.org/monet/revolution.html

The web exhibition includes an exhibition guide, which is available
free of charge as a PDF download

    http://www.ncartmuseum.org/monet/revolution.pdf

The download contains an extended discussion of the information
found in the web exhibition as well as an exhibition check list,
    bibliography, and acknowledgements.

We invite you to take a look at the web site and exhibition guide.
We hope you will find it interesting and will let us know what you
    think of it.
