The trunk is much older than the lock, the lock was a replacement. If you look above the lock you can see where original hardware would have been. The trunk is a steamer trunk from the mid 1800’s and the Eagle lock is a standard trunk lock worth about $35.00 do you have the key to it?

Maju k veci pekny vztah.

V amerike posobia ludia, krory rucne vyrabaju kopie klucov. Cena kopie sa pohybuje okolo 30.00 /$-dolarov/. Je to samozrejme vsetko rucna praca. :)

    Ak zistim nove informacie napisem.

    >Hi Michal ! It was nice to hear from someone such as you that is
    >interested in trunks! I have been rstoring antique trunks for about ten
    >years. I have restored about 500 antique trunks of all shapes and sizes.
    > By the pictures you have sent…… I can tell you that trunk was made
    >in the United States by a trunk company in New York in the late 1870’s
    > or early 1880″s . Usualy these trunks were ordered from a catalog by
    >people emegrating to the United States at that early time in history.
    >At that time they cost from $3 to $ 7. !!!!!!! I would love to see
    >more pictures of your trunk from your grandfather. I do have a web site
    >you could see some of mine at….
    >http://home.earthlink.net~ndmuse/collections.html I hope to
    >hear from you soon I could then send you more pictures of some I have
